I agree, Beefliverpie, a bench should be counted among the very first tools a person buys or builds.  It&#039;s hard to do much w/out a bench.  Scandinavian benches are good but expensive &amp;/or hard to build.  English style benches are not as adaptable as I want a bench to be.  A bench built like a big box made of OSB &amp; ply w/ a bunch of holes for holdfasts is easy &amp; cheap to build.  W/ a few holdfasts you can clamp work to the top &amp; any of the sides.  Clamp a board to an end for a benchstop.</description>
